Cross-section of time, map of wonder and the egg of a wren
2022

We are old, very, very old. Not the ‘I’, but the matter that makes us. These cells that we borrow to be ‘us’ have been a part of the ongoing Earthly exchange of matter and energy since the planet pulled themselves together. 𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘮𝘢𝘱 𝘰𝘧 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘨𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘸𝘳𝘦𝘯⁣ slips passed any hierarchy of materials, illustrating the entanglement of planetary processes and giving all things in their current form agency to be - in relation to us and each other. Recalibrating to the reality of what we are gives us a moment to dissolve into the polytemporal states that we simultaneously occupy and the cellular cosmology that that offers.⁣

I believe a leaf of grass is no less than the journey-work of the stars,
And the pismire is equally perfect, and a grain of sand, and the egg of the wren…

From Designing Mythology

Designing Mythology is a questioning and proposal for old ways / new to exist as humans, using the process of 'mything' to reorientate back towards the planet, and recalibrate our value systems by dismantling the current shadow metaphors of the Western-colonial worldview. It proposes the restorying of scientific perspectives to offer a cosmology that includes humans as part of the living world whilst simultaneously removing us from the centre. Thus a recognition and return, via a circuitous route, to the worldviews, deep connection and sustainment of the first peoples of our planet.
