Commissioned by the healers of Akeyulerre Healing Centre.

This set of four blocks was designed and produced for the Akeyulerre Healing Centre, Alice Springs. The women involved in the four year Angkwerre-Iweme project worked on a large-scale collaborative painting that described Ngangkere practice and knowledge, they then wanted to share this with others through an object. The challenge was to produce something that would adequately encompass the gravity and sensibility of the knowledge to be shared.
The entire painting is engraved in fine detail on one side of each of the blocks, the remaining fives sides describe elements within the painting that come together to inform Arrernte traditional healing.
